HRC Legal Documents: Contained in these sub-sections are:

  • Human Rights Commission Acts 2000 and 2001, enabling the establishment of the Human Rights Commission.
  • European Convention on Human Rights Act 2003, an act to enable further effect to be given, subject to the Constitution, to certain provision of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and certain protocols thereto. The Act also amends the Human Rights Commission Act 2000 and provides for related matters .
  • The Good Friday Agreement of 1998, which provided for the establishment of the Human Rights Commission as well as the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission
  • The “Paris Principles”, the UN Guidelines on the establishment and operation of National Human Rights Institutions
